Bill C-15 would repeal the sections of the Canada Post Corporation Act that provide for (1) free mailing of letters, books, tapes, records and other similar material for the use of the blind; and (2) reduced postage for library materials (aka the Library Book Rate).

Well, there are a lot more chimneys, fireplaces, and stone/brick stoves in Mairran's time than in Lannesk's, so that's probably significant technological advancement in keeping warm!

It was already beginning in the late eighties, even. A grad student brought a map to me for his thesis and said, "I did this map of the lake on the computer but it doesn't look right at all, can you sort of fix it by redrawing it ..."

My obsolete skill: graphs, maps, histograms, & scientific illustration from study skins and other preserved specimens of birds and fish, using technical pens and a light table, producing photo-ready material ultimately for publication in books and journals.
