I still find it amazing that rap took a content “turn “ after the “Black Empowerment “ movement . But I question the narrative that “the labels” made artist rap about guns and violence and forced an agenda . Whos accountable?

Some say Rap went from Partying to social commentary (The Breaks , the message, it’s like that) to Drug Prevention to lyrical skill to Knowledge of self & Black empowerment to gangsta to “Hustlin” back to partying & now to taking drugs . Of course there’s the few exceptions . Thoughts ?

I said in a interview recently that I don’t like “Diss Records” & some folks got HOT .. saying “This is the culture , it’s for sport “ I’m sorry . There’s no “sport” in trying to destroy a career just for clout . That’s not culture . That’s low frequency.

It’s the mellow cool brother .. slicker than oil … #⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️
