It is a mashup of two beloved shows: an incredibly serious show where regular folk show their intellectual prowess (think Jeopardy but for words and math instead of trivia) and a now-defunct panel show where comedians are silly.
It is ridiculous and v fun.
But Taskmaster is your priority.

Follow up: who at the school division was responsible for the procurement and was choosing the least functional app possible a key criteria?

Not sure about other teams, but the Riders are actively hostile to families. Tix are $$$ for any decent seat, food prices are unreal and the merch is both terrible quality AND exorbitantly priced. Love of the game comes through exposure & I can’t spend $500 9x a year for my kids to get the reps in.
