One of the things that I think has been underreported this year is that ICE still deported a ton of people under Biden and Obama. The difference was that they were explicitly charged with finding and deporting violent criminals. But apparently ICE didn’t like that because it was hard.

As a working scientist - it is galling, infuriating, and just so painful. Also, the damage done to my students and their ability to innovate and advance pisses me the f*** off.
