A little bit of grief #poetry I wrote 🌊💙

After Dad died I bought a custom longboard as a kind of grief distraction. I worried I wouldn't be able to ride it. It's the best #surfboard I've ever owned. I wish I could tell Dad about it, but Ghost Dad comes #surfing with me which is enough I suppose.

Controversial view: Australians don't respect nature. Prove me wrong, because I don't see it.

Dreamt last night all the major world leaders (including Musk, Altman etc) were all on drugs. Was trying to get evidence and someone gave me gummy snake MDMA to destroy my credibility. Fuck it, I thought, we are all on drugs. What hope do we have? What reality are we living in?

Miss my Dad so much. Whenever I'd come back from a trip we'd drink wine, tell stories and listen to music. Now I'm just listening to his music and missing him like all fuck.

Sometimes I want to live at the end of the earth, where the wild things ask me to remember who I am. At first light we will drink tea and contemplate isness.

The last time I made palak paneer it was for my Dad, who was finding it hard to eat and swallow. He loved it, and asked for it the next day. Today I made it with beet leaves and sat to eat with Ghost Dad.

If you could have one more conversation with them, what would you say?

Or would you just sit in silence and absorb their beingness?

Is it ever enough?

Sometimes Iay in bed at night and listen to music with Ghost Dad.

Dad always liked new music. Ghost Dad too. Sometimes we play a song we like twice.

He doesn't need to say anything. We just listen together in the darkness.
