Maybe there's a cool concept around clash of clans like gameplay? Your PDS could be a kingdom with users being knights and lords, with roundtable decision making based around some DAO functionality

Yes but not a press briefing, more like a podcast format with q and a maybe. Part of what people love about Pete is he can get down and dirty in the nerdy policy details, journalists are just looking for the soundbites for their publication

Why didn't they just lease it to them??? The city should be a more major landlord, it's in their best interest to make use of the land, more so than a speculative developer

And in today's information rich age, distilling existing information into consumable content is just as important as investigative reporting or even direct political action.

If you haven't already, check out the daily show podcast. There's more substance to it, and they have some interesting guests on. I'd push back that commentary doesn't change anything, that's literally why a free press is essential to democracy.

My point was it's a Comedy-News show and it does well to make certain ideology accessible to people who aren't otherwise super well informed. I personally love it, I don't understand what you guys are expecting from it?

I kindof get the food angle though. If your intent is to promote more local produce, tariffs make sense. We should also take a look at what we are subsidizing (corn and soy) as well as strategic tariffs. A problem with avocados specifically, higher prices would draw even more water out of california

I agree, a classic car ban is only gonna piss people off. Instead of lowering gas prices, maybe make alternatives to cars better and cheaper?

Maybe they didnt read it?
December 5, 2024 at 12:01 AM
Or if they did phrase it like that, the implication would be a positive tone

Nobody ever phrases roads in this way. "Pennsylvania props up highway systems across the state" would be a ridiculous thing to say. Its a public good, lets treat it like one

South Korea has military/civil service which should help in the ethos that a military is of the people for the people. The US has increasingly turned towards having a "warrior class" where the majority of new recruits are from families with past military experience
