Job Simulator is great! Haven't played Vacation Simulator but I bet it's just as good.

Also this app doesn't really try to target stuff at me, and isn't great at marking adult stuff, so there are a lot of penises everywhere for some reason.

I... Use social media to be entertained? Is that not what most people do? I don't really encounter Nazis because the algorithm shows me things I want to see, like cool art and video game stuff.

This place really just isn't nearly as active still, or at least the algorithm on Twitter makes it so every time I refresh I get all new stuff. If this place gets that feature, I'll switch.

Oh, that's how it works? Interesting.

This post is there for me.

Saying they didn't even try because d&d sells by name alone is just ridiculous for anyone who followed its development even a little.

5e had play tests over several years as they refined and modified the rules based on surveys and feedback. They worked really hard to release the game players wanted 5e to be.

This does not happen. Nobody working on d&d thinks like this, I guarantee it.

As a kid, I went on a couple of tours through caves. They can be really beautiful and are surprisingly complicated, much like the surface.

Maybe some occupied ones. Campsites for explorers, trails leading through, and torches to light the way.

Or maybe different cave features, like a part that was cut through by an underground river, a cluster of crystal formations, and areas dripping with stalactites and stalagmites.

Hmm, by "open" do you mean lacking in direction? I think the difference between open world and sandbox is the presence of quests and guidance. A sandbox is when there really isn't an objective, just things to interact with but no actual goal.

The Smash style is used a lot in Devil May Cry and similar games and I love it. Combined with slight pauses for a different combo you can put in a bunch of useful (related) moves without using more than one button.

It's common? I've never seen something like that before. The idea bothers me, but I guess if you were extremely clear about what it is, I guess it's alright... It's really not DLC though.

DLC stands for DownLoadable Content, what you're suggesting is by definition not DLC. Just put a link to a ko-fi or something.

Part of the reason my dev team is mostly just 2 people is because I don't want to be this person, lol. I can code and make pixel art, though

I actually prefer playing on the ps5, consoles are just simpler to set up with a TV and have fewer distractions. PC does everything, but the fact that it does everything can be a problem with the user experience if all I want to do is play games.

Personally I don't see that as a bad thing, from a consumer's perspective. I'd rather have a good quality device that works well and has a great interface with features I use than feel pressured to buy a specific console for exclusives. That said, I don't really see any reason to get the pro here.

Arguably Dwarf Fortress, but that game is also fun from a consumer perspective of course. It's just that it's a really complex simulation that's very impressive for something made by mostly one programmer.

I just realized you said "solo devs", I'm in a duo. 😅
September 6, 2024 at 12:13 AM
Not much I can share visually atm, but I'm making a turn based tactical RPG focused on being outnumbered and protecting others as mostly a solo unit. Here's a sprite I made of the main character, though I'll be revising it soon.

I don't remember everybody actually wearing masks ever.
