I got my first batch of kombucha started! I just have about one and a half more pots of tea to make.

My kombucha recipe is to just get the tea as sweet and as dark as Milo’s sweet tea and then to just dump it all in with the mother for 4-5 weeks after it cools to room temperature.

I trace the historical origins of “the outsider aesthetic” and point out where it shows up in noise subculture, the Southern art aesthetic, contemporary art and more. open.substack.com/pub/kylekess...
What in the world is "the outsider aesthetic"?

Susan Alcorn is one of the greats and she shreds so hard on this.
It’s Bandcamp Friday, and preorders are now open for the swan song from the late pedal-steel virtuoso Susan Alcorn, improvising with metal duo Nomad War Machine. It’s on my label, and I’m honored and humbled to have a hand in getting it out into the world.

This NYTimes recipe for creamy kale was delicious and easy to make. It tastes almost like creamed spinach but better and easier to make.
