The Magneto and Hulk fights near the end were very fun! I liked that they slowly incorporated more of the characters from the universe into the book as it went along. It was cool seeing that OG lineup of Avengers pop up. One of the few places you see the post-Hulk, pre-Cap lineup!

The soap opera stuff is cute and very Marvel Age, even if I find the conflict with Odin somewhat forced and Jane underdeveloped at this point. The Asgardian villains are exceedingly more fun than the run-of-the-mill super villains they give Thor at first

Seeing the book figure out what it is at the beginning was very fun and interesting from an academic perspective. I hadn’t realized how many other artists were on the book after Kirby helped launch it, but it definitely is elevated when he comes back for his extended run starting at 101

A few times last year while reading Thor books for @issueswithcartoons.bsky.social , I said I wanted to start from the very beginning and read as much Thor as I could and I finally started! I just finished the Essential volume 1 and starting volume 2. Seeing Herc on the cover already has me excited!
