The Long Walk was a surprise; very emotional and well done. One Battle After Another is incredibly timely and a tense ride. Eleanor the Great is an awful person but the stories around her made the movie. The Smashing Machine was underwhelming and a bit boring.

Fantastic farewell for Downton Abbey. A History of Sound was beautiful and sad, and a little messy. ABBBJ was good but tried a little too hard to be poignant. And Afterburn was fun (just turn your brain off first).

What a great week! Glad we’re getting more mid-tier indie films like these!

Lesbian Space Princess was incredibly funny. The Threesome (awful title) was wonderfully heartfelt. Twinless, vulnerable and a little sinister. And Splitsville was roaringly funny.

This is from a former manager at a company that laid me off after only 4 months on the job. A manager who didn’t fight for me, nor help me after the layoff to get a better compensation package. A company that laid off 30+% of its workforce due to poor management. But Great Place to Work, tho. 🙄

Oh, Hi! was incredibly funny but with a twinge of sadness, which I enjoyed. The Bad Guys 2 was fun and silly. I’d put off Fire Island for years but ended up liking it a lot. And Fantastic Four was really good but I thought they played it a little safe.

Been obsessing over the soundtrack for K-Pop Demon Hunters for over a week now. All the songs are bangers, but my favorite lyric has to be:

Honestly, a bunch of bangers. K-Pop Demon Hunters was gorgeous and has incredible music. Sorry, Baby was very funny and handled incredibly sensitive issues with grace. And Superman was exactly what I hoped it would be. IKWYDLS was entertaining but underwhelming.

Best watch was 40 Acres, which no one saw because of no advertising! And I think I liked Megan 2.0 more than the first one 🤣. Jurassic World Rebirth was a decent add to the franchise.

The Outsiders was surprisingly bad? Hadn’t seen it before & was expecting way better.

28 Years Later easily takes the top spot this week! Crazy good film. Also really enjoyed F1 (see it in a Dolby theater, worth it for the sound alone!) and Bad Shabbos (took half a star off for their multiple mentions of the IDF). Bride Hard was fun but dumb.

Materialists is one of my fave movies of the year so far! Also surprised by The Apartment (1960) that I saw a special screening of. Both The Life of Chuck and Elio were good but slightly underwhelming. Had higher hopes for them. #LastFourWatched

Newest Mission Impossible movie is definitely my favorite! Was surprised by Clown in a Cornfield (killer reveal was dumb, but funny scenes and decent kills). Things Like This was good but the lead actor (also writer/director) was bad. And Henry Johnson was decent but overwritten. #LastFourWatched
