It was the sweetest moment I’ve witnessed during the war.

I saw it today –
two banks of Kyiv:
one with electricity,
the other without.

A powerful sight.

🎄 Day 4 of our #Shropshire advent calendar shows early morning light on the frost-covered balustrades of Cressage Bridge, with the Wrekin seen in the distance. It was very cold standing above the River Severn and I was glad to get back in front of the woodburner at home! 🎅

A moody #sunset and views to #birmingham from Pole Bank in #shropshire. The sun sets early this time of year - this was at 3:45pm!

Kyiv is slowly coming back to life after the night’s attack.

Kyiv is under missile attack.
It’s very loud.
Nothing new, really.
Just thought the world should know.

1/2 A magical sunset in the Corvedale, seen from Brown Clee. I was standing on the ramparts of Nordy Bank hill fort for this shot, looking out across the misty landscape towards the Brecon Beacons - now known as Bannau Brycheiniog - on the horizon. #Shropshire

Tonight, looking east. The bright star on the left above the highest point on the horizon is #Jupiter. The two stars above it are part of #Gemini. To the right of the photo is #Orion. Look just to the right of the 3 star belt, you can just make out the #nebular.

Starry skies from the Long Mynd, Shropshire, England. A full moon is lighting up the countryside.

More #exploring in #shropshire this afternoon. I must have been up on the Mynd a hundred times, but I’d never been up Townbrook Valley before. It’s lovely! Wind was cold, and a few spots of rain, but sunshine too.

Aren’t frosted leaves beautiful? I went on a wintry walk down the bridle path this morning and photographed some of the little treasures I found gathered in the grass along the hedgerows. The sky was blue, and the birds were singing; what a glorious (but chilly) day! #nature #art

Greetings from Kyiv.

I’ve just listened to Zelenskyy’s address to the Ukrainian people.
My opinion?

This man knows what is right.
Ukraine is under enormous pressure from the current US administration.
Zelenskyy made it clear: he wants a decent peace. We all do.

Decent peace is not capitulation.

I can’t speak for others,
but the current situation in Ukraine (severe attacks, almost no power)
won’t break me or make me accept
any ridiculous ‘peace’ (capitulation) deal.

Yes, I’m not a decision-maker.
Just saying.

Frosty or snowy mornings transform seed heads into crisp winter sculptures. John Clare conveys that sharp countryside cold in his poem Winter: “The small wind whispers through the leafless hedge, most sharp and chill, where the light snowy flakes rest on each twig.” #WinterPoetry
