This is the main reason I play a lot more roguelites than roguelikes. For roguelites, you basically have all the subgenres, and all the different combat styles, like Hades' action and Into The Breach's strategy. For roguelikes it's just the old simultaneous tile movement thing over and over...

Played Shiren (Serpent Coil Island) today, and yeah... I just felt like there was something meta missing from it, like the town/relationship/monster capture thing you described from Azure Dreams (which was the last roguelike I really enjoyed). I am curious about Caves of Qud though!

Also it's really fun to see how far you can push the Heat / Fear!

Yeah, it's a 10/10 no doubt! Are you stopping at this point though, or going for epilogue (and all achievements even)? One of my favorite things about both Hades & Hades II is how far you can play and still continue to learn more about the characters and story!
