It’s sickening to see the government gloat about immigration raids that tear families apart, in yet another racist appeal to the far right.

Thank you Lewisham Anti-raids for showing up, monitoring, reminding people of their rights, and making sure that no-one was taken.

Absolutely horrific details about an ICE shooting in Minneapolis.

A witness says a woman was trying to drive away from an ICE operation and the ICE agent "reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times."

Bovino was there.

while I really wish more people would wear masks as an immunocompromised person in the midst of a massive flu wave, it’s also not enough to simply say more people should be wearing masks from an institutional perspective - it’s much harder to get masks in the uk now, people dont know where to go

UK police forces knew they were using biased facial recognition technology for the last year.

This is because forces were unhappy that the more accurate version produced fewer potential suspects.

Keir Starmer is urging other European countries to “go further” in undermining or as he claims ‘modernising the interpretation’ of the European convention on human rights (ECHR) to prevent people seeking asylum from using it to remain in a country. In the 6th largest economy in the world .. [1/n]

Very exhausted but very worthwhile - have been between Manchester and Belfast this week at The World Transformed and at Stormont, presenting research I’ve been doing on immigration raids at the latter

And that is if you take that sentiment at face value and not the underlying one, which is that the only migrants that many of those anti-migrants have a problem with are migrants whose skin colour just happens to be more melanated.
"Anti-immigrant march" is such a telling phrase. An immigrant is just a person who exercises the freedom they are born with, which is recognised by all human rights legislation, and moves across imaginary lines on the ground. Being "anti-immigrant" means anti-movement, anti-freedom and anti-person.
