I'd add that affordable housing often only has to be affordable for a set number of years. There are incentives to build affordable housing or have a percentage of units in a complex as affordable, but after 10 years they can revert to market rent etc (no. of yrs may differ per state & scheme)

They mostly give you 50-100 woolies everyday rewards points... for reference 2000 rewards points equals 10 dollars.

I watched the Robodebt RC & the Horizon hearings. Line-for-line you could match the bureaucrats, lawyers, managers, politicians from the Aus scandal with their equivalent from the UK scandal. It freaked me out how similar the people were.

I’d argue actual disengagement shows up as a donkey vote or informal vote or just paying the fine if you can afford it.

My reading of that paragraph has changed each time I've read it. My latest is that it's not saying rent assistance decreased rents, it's saying the increase in RA is equivalent to 1.3% of what rents increased by (on average etc).

Exactly. I don't want to knock the policy too much & it'll help some people. I'd be more enthusiastic about it if it was just a straight increase in the rebate & trust GPs to choose when to bulk bill. We have to trust them with our health, Govt could trust them a little more with the money.

The new bulk billing rate would still be less than my GPs current up front fees. Closer though & they would likely bulk bill more appts at these rates, but if all appts must be bulk billed to get the higher rebates I doubt they'd do it.

Pretty sure he didn’t get a wild card and instead used his protected ranking of 20 something to get in the main draw.

They've done the same thing with Brisbane busses. Near impossible at night to see when your stop is. Absolutely hate it.
