When I left and everyone that I thought I was close with (the people I knew irl, especially) never bothered to reach out or even reply when I would text or call. It was just too inconvenient for them.

was too much for them. Social media, particularly fb, make pretending to care convenient for the people who never wanted to show up for you in the first place.
