Pro-life, progressive imperfect Christian, Labor-leaning political independent, voted yes on Voice to Parliament, supporter of Treaty, strong but not uncritical supporter of Albo and his government
Has he also begged Netanyahu to stop the genocide for the last two years?

Am hoping you voted in that. I did, although my tastes are quite conservative so don't expect most of my choices will do well

Cue a lucrative career appearing on Sky News, writing in the Australian and the Daily Telegraph, appearing on every right-wing podcast there is, probably writing a book on how universities have been hijacked by the woke mob, speaking at Aus CPAC, the trajectory is so predictable as to be boring now

Imagine Islamic special envoy had a spouse who donated to a group promoting Islamic extremism, Sharia law and anti-Semitism in Australia. Cue the Australian, Sussan Ley and the like immediately calling for his/her head. He/she would be gone by the end of the day and rightly so. Double standard here

Imagine if were Muslims putting forward all these recommendations about how to combat Islamophobia. Imagine the hysterical reaction there would be, and the claims that they were trying to implement "Sharia law" and so on. It'd be immediately dismissed. Many of these recommendations should be too

Pesutto is the wet blanket who defied the wishes of his own electorate to support "no" on the Voice, my sympathy for him would be greater if he hadn't done that. I agree about Deeming, she's nasty, bitter, vindictive, self-aggrandizing, a real piece of work.

She's one of those people who will still be railing against the alleged injustice of it all on her deathbed (perhaps her ghost will even come back and haunt us about it). She probably has the most obsessive victim mentality and persecution complex I've ever seen
June 12, 2025 at 3:08 PM
Ley also should remember history. She was a supposed "moderate/center-right" who turned on Turnbull and backed Dutton in 2019 in grievance because Turnbull rightly relegated her to the backbench over travel expenses. She demoted Hume for much less, history will almost certainly repeat
June 1, 2025 at 9:03 AM
In all fairness to Hume, it must be galling to see empty grifters like Price kept on and talentless dimwits like Cash given Foreign Affairs. She has more talent than both (not hard). Then again, her "Chinese spies" comment was truly despicable, as was her doubling down on it, so there's that...
June 1, 2025 at 8:59 AM
Nice try by Ley, giving her a portfolio that doesn't require her to be seen or heard on a regular basis because she knows how toxic and destructive Price can be to the party's fortunes. But Price can't stand not being the center of attention and she's already low-key whining about it on Sky

Let. Them. Fight

If Nicollette wins Bradfield, Sussan will have lost three of those who voted for her (Kapterian, and Hughes and Reynolds will leave in July). Her wall of protection against a future Angus challenge will be very thin indeed
May 19, 2025 at 6:09 AM
She voted for Ley and her vote still counts. Same as in 2007, when Dave Tollner and maybe one or two other Liberals helped Nelson get over the line against Turnbull by voting in the Lib leadership ballot before the results went against them in their seats. Turnbull did not take this well

How many times does he want to make it clear she's in his bad books?
May 12, 2025 at 5:28 AM
He really does bear grudges. He hasn't forgiven her for not refuting Shorten's offer of the deputy leadership in 2013. This just seems to be motivated by sheer pettiness rather than any other reason. I remain a passionate Albo supporter for other reasons, but I do think this unbecoming of him.
