The Taoiseach reconfirmed to me just now that they are pressing ahead with ratification of the CETA trade deal through the Arbitration Act due to the economic benefits (which are not in dispute) but cited any one who has an issue with the Investor Courts dispute mechanism as "ideological". #ceta

I’ve just seen that Independent Ireland’s Michael Collins called some MEPs “traitors” under Dáil privilege.

That’s a disgusting slur and has no place in Irish politics.

Collins should withdraw the remark and apologise for it. I’m not surprised by his behaviour but it needs to be called out.

In schools in communities I represent in Limerick. A hot school meal means a child gets fed. In most cases the food is decent quality and nothing I wouldn’t eat myself!
Ballymaloe founder Darina Allen has blasted the Hot School Meals programme as “not fit for purpose” during an appearance before TDs this morning.

But Allen received pushback from some who pointed to children getting reliable meals thanks to the policy.

I visited The Lunch Bag in Nenagh and saw first hand how these meals are sourced and prepared. I've experience of this scheme as a parent too. Is it perfect? No. Does it provide a meal for children who need one? Yes. Should it be retained and improved? Absolutely.

Kind of unbelievably, this morning as we launched a Dáil motion on congestion on our roads & the need for flexible working, my colleague @markwalltd was late for the debate as he was stuck in traffic. He had left Athy at 6.30am and wasn’t able to make it on time for a 10am start. Absolute madness🤯
