Following on from my previous posts about selfishness and control, I toyed with a few follow up ideas to talk about. One of these is about expectations. I have formed my own opinions about expectations and I don't see such opinions being echoed much elsewhere, so this may be in conflict with mainstream dialogue, and that rather excites me. Expectation is a condition of failure.

Mental fires of industry. Smoke and steam leaking from ears. Carbon footprints on the soul. The unsupervised automata of conditioned thought. Toxic. Like 1000 monkeys on typewriters. Random nonsense. Sometimes something sensible. Rarely very useful. Chaos. Clawing back control. Regulating the automata. Firing the Monkeys. Clean away the clutter. Peace. Learning a new approach. The regime of the Self. Finding the balance.

In my earlier series on depression, A Darker Path, I mentioned the difficulties I had with hay fever, and sort of suggested that it contributed to my depression. Well, of all the discussion that my series generated, one was how I managed to get over my affliction, because for those who know me in the flesh, they will know that I rarely, if ever, display any of the symptoms.

Either filming or doing a stage show, often it is the small social moments in the green room that, as an actor, you walk away remembering most of all. I can honestly say that I have met so many wonderful people, and learnt an incredible amount from the time spent waiting in the Green Room.

This is the end if this story, but a new dawn awaits.
