Just finished this 9x12" pencil drawing of Tom Morello.

You know it's flame test week in chemistry when your allergies/sinuses are trying to murder you, but you can STILL smell natural gas in the hallway outside of the lab.

(This is one of the few things that I'll actually interrupt a lab for, because gas leaks are bad, mmkay? 😬)

Reading this makes me tired, but also super excited for you and you definitely should not shut up about it

(I on the other hand went to two shows one week apart and I fear I will never recover 😂)

I made 50% shade fabric covers to put over them (they're in wire cages bc one got girdled by rabbits & we had to replace it; makes a nice frame for covers), and we've been working to remove grass and add more plants nearby to provide shade and break up the soil. It's just a very slow process.

About 5.5 years, but they don't look it.

We have very poor rocky clay soil, and I think they've struggled to grow deep roots. Between that & trying to get them adequately shaded from scorching afternoon sun, they haven't grown much.

Hoping some changes we made this year will help 🤞
