FB post from Keep Oregon Green Assocciation. Text says, "THIS WASN’T US. While we can’t apologize for others, we are posting to let you know that Meta made a HUGE MISTAKE. Meta made news recently, as they are looking to 'enable fully automated ads by 2026, where advertisers will be able to activate a campaign by simply inputting their business URL, then letting Meta’s AI creative and targeting systems do the rest.' This just happened to us. Meta’s AI generated this alarmist, dramatic and FALSE ad without our consent/approval/knowledge- a stunningly awful result. This ad had 524 impressions while it was up. Thankfully, we were one of them who saw it and we pulled it right away. Meta’s mistake compromised truth and trust in our organization. Let our Meta AI experience serve as an example and warning to others." With a screenshot of the erroneous ad that they put a red X through. The false AI-generated ad features their logo and a picture of Smokey the Bear and says, "WILDFIRE ALERT! Current fire conditions are critical! View our overactive map to stay informed. But prevention is key...Learn how YOU can make a difference today!"
