"Chicken wings are...down 2.8% from last year."

I'm a bit surprised by this. With beef prices so high, I figured chicken prices would also go up as more people look for alternates/substitutes.

I guess chicken wings specifically aren't a big alternative for beef.

The median household income is roughly $84,000. The 401k max for under 50 is $24,500 in 2026. That's a 30% savings rate based on gross income.

I agree with being forward-thinking on retirement, but rising costs and small raises are pushing the max out of reach for many households.

Out of curiosity, I checked my crypto allocation... It's dropped from 1% to .10% in five years.

In fairness, I've never invested in crypto regularly, but I still shudder at the volatility because I know it can roil other markets.
I am 1.43% allocated to crypto... yet I feel on the brink of ruin when these bitcoin & ether liquidations happen
