But this is a conversation very rooted in a lot of surrounding infrastructure like wages and housing and childcare and what the obligation is of a government to care for its citizensand to what standard of living.

Basically in addition to not actually updating the menas of measure, it feels like we also don't update for how society has changed in the ways we have this conversation.

I also have questions about how we define and measure a lot of things between necessities and wants when running these sorts of numbers. Not because the way we do it is wrong but things like using the nuclear family as the bar.

Dog walk thoughts: I can't validate the numbers but I think based on ever increasing cost of living and lack of comparable wage growth, the poverty line as is currently is not sufficient (especially for a family of 4).

Among the things social media has caused, it's the lack of realization of boundaries. Some thoughts are for the group chat, some are for Discord, some are just to be shared on the phone or in person with your friends, some are to be kept to yourself.
Not every single thought needs to be public.
