I don’t know how you felt about Code Name Helene, it’s one of my absolute favorite books, but Lawhon is coming out with a new book this year, The Pirate Queen, which I’m really excited for. Might be one to add if you like her writing

I was so glad I listened to most of Homegoing when I read it. Made it much more immersive. I hope you find it to be as good a book as I did.

On my reread of Chain Gang All-Stars I’ll have to try the audio version. I bet it’s outstanding

Enjoy your TBR!

I set the same goal every year of 52 books. For me it’s the right amount to ensure I’m consistently reading but doesn’t make me feel pressured

As for choosing what I’ll read I’m very much a mood reader. I try to mix fiction & non though and move around the map and time periods

I’ve got The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi on my list for 2026 so I’m ready for the sequel when it comes out later this year.

My husband loves his Kobo and my sister got one for Christmas. It has its own store and I believe is owned or somehow associated with Overdrive. It seems like a really solid alternative to a kindle.

Sometimes! If it’s a longer book or one I know I’ll go back to I like to have the option. A lot of my nonfiction I have both so I can flip between depending on my attention span at the time. I have moved away from Audible though and use Libro FM and I try to use Libby when I can

Sounds similar to what I have. I think I’m finally on the mend though on day 7.

Hope you start feeling better soon!
