The basic premise behind the A24 Civil War film.

That's not a spoiler btw, the film is about war journalism. The premise doesn't really matter.

Today is the deadline set for removal of this war memorial in #scarisbrick #lancashire by the greedy trustees at #thevenue so a petting zoo can be opened. Locals are due to gather at 10:30 am to protect it.

My dislike of unfairness has been stirred by this. My dad's uncle is named here, his story was sad, his grave is far away in Paris. Dad worked hard to get this memorial. It gets worse though, they've also fenced off the village's only playing field. #scarisbrick www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I have this question about the UK too, where there are six million trade unionists but we keep hearing about Refuk.
When the far right won the first round of the Romanian election it was heavily covered by @bbcnews.bsky.social Now they've been thrashed in the large final vote and the centrists won in Poland there is much less coverage. Why? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Beautiful winner though, it was in my top ten #Eurovision

#Eurovision Son's favourite won. The drama, I am not going to be able to relax for days. Seriously thinking public votes should be axed, people used to say it was 'political', it certainly is now!

#Eurovision #ESC #Eurovision2025 perked up with Eurodab. Can that win, please? Most overstimulating interval act ever. Amazing. Turn the rest of it off and show it on a loop.

That was a top tier #DoctorWho The jeopardy, the new characters, the plot, the funny bit, the angry but. The end.

I. Am. Buzzing.

Apparently there was a ruckus outside Forbidden Planet in Sheffield this morning involving people pushing into a queue for Labubus and staff are upset. Be nice, people. It's just a collectible.

These two: 🇦🇱 and 🇫🇮

#Eurovision #ESC #Eurovision2025

🇦🇱 Because it's totally fresh, like an electronica Bond theme plus traditional themes and beautiful lyrics.

🇫🇮 Because it's Eurovision to the nth degree, cheeky, and she *eats* that stage up.

So, really pleased and surprised about Latvia in #Eurovision as it was lovely but I thought people wouldn't get it. Wish Ireland and Australia were there for cheesy fun though.

If people don't know #Sky is keeping going down across UK and Ireland. Don't panic, your box isn't broken.
May 15, 2025 at 9:57 PM
No word of a lie, our Sky box crashed during #Eurovision and there was 100 times more drama than anything on that stage. Had to watch Erika Vikman on iPlayer!

Not sure about the cat litter theme for France #Eurovision Sorry. That completely distracted me.

This is the screechy #Eurovision semi tonight. Ugh. But I'm looking forwards to the fun of Finland, Australia, and Ireland, and the lovely tunes from Austria and Latvia. Malta and Denmark are the bangers.

Albania remains my favourite song at #Eurovision this year. Erika Vikman is also magnificent. Can't convince my son, he loves Austria, Australia and Sweden.

Keep an eye on weather forecasts the next few days. Decent ones, not crappy phone apps.
Even after Éowyn clears, there's the possibility of another named storm on Sunday. It will likely not nearly be as severe but everything will be more vulnerable from the aftermath of Éowyn that it won't take much really.
