The thing that matters here imo is care. When bell telephone made the instructional video for their rotary dial system, they were performing care for the disruption they were causing and informing the victims of that disruption of the good reason why it was happening
This disorientation takes something much more precious to people than their money: it steals their time and attention. If I know how a thing works and I must relearn it, there needs to be a good reason and consideration put into that decision.

I’m seeing local news reporting on Flock and its use by Feds, in local online spaces people can’t shut up about deflock. I spend a lot of money (for me) on information ecosystem stuff, my 404 sub is by far the best bang for buck I get

Science took a major hit today, and most didn’t even notice. The U.S. govt (or better elons cronies) shut down #PubMed, one of the most important, comprehensive, widely used, free database of biomedical and life sciences. It provided access to millions of research articles clinical studies and reviews. PubMed was a cornerstone of modern medical and life sciences research. Edit: It seems to be an DNS issue that has not been resolved yet (for everybody)

Ideologically I think I’m pushed more towards a Free Software type deal, idk exactly where , but I do really think the computer is important, and corporations having complete control of the computer is a disaster
