My mom had so many issues getting her inheritance from my grandmother.... Because she KEPT her maiden name! The bank etc kept asking for proof of name change back from her married name. She kept saying but I never changed it in the first place so how tf would I have that?

I don't recommend hyphenating your name; causes all sorts of problems on documentation now that everything is computerized. Only reason I changed my maiden name when I got married was to ditch the hyphen
