📃🩺🧪🌏Remarkable paper in @lancetgh.bsky.social on factors associated with health-care (in)efficiency.
🤓TL;DR summary➡️Most surprising result: development assistance for health is associated with inefficiency📉
#MedSky #PublicHealth #GlobalHealth
www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...
Factors associated with health spending inefficiency
Strongly associated with EFFICIENCY: gov, pharmaceutical, social protection spending; democracy, accountability, rule of law, regulatory qual, gov stability, gov effectiveness; all preventive care factors (vaccines, ANC, skilled birth); all infrastructure factors (electricity, pop density, roads, health workers)
Strongly associated with INEFFICIENCY: prepaid private spending, development assistance for health; gov corruption, education inequality
