Hyper-local Dominionist deep dive. LancPA has a number of critical connections; let’s look closer. [email protected] #notajournalist
I agree.

Also, in a town like Lancaster, engaging in those action steps comes with consequences, not from the left or the right as much as from centers of power.

People won’t get considered for jobs. Folks get fired. Ostracized.

Saying anything “negative” about Christianity does not go over well.

You put this so well. I might borrow your words at some point: Dismantling the Christofacist shadow regime that put Trump in power in the first place will require knowing the ones living in our own backyards. 🔥🔥🔥

We don’t need to dehumanize them but we do need to know who they are.

Peter Teague has helped to sow seeds that are certainly revealing fruits of long labor - we just won’t discuss why that’s a problem, will we Lancaster?

How to we fight a problem we cannot name or locate?

Let’s just become a Christian nation already. 🤷🏼‍♂️
Teague has cheerful connections including Tony Perkins, James Dobson, Michael Farris, Mike Huckabee, Jim Daly, Jack Hibbs and Eric Metaxas.

They all do cheerful things cheerfully. Nothing says cheer like Christian hate.

Teague is cozy with a number of significant figures in America’s Christian nationalist moment.

Towns like Lancaster frame Christian nationalism as an “outsider” problem, like they’re people we can shoo out of town rather than locals with deep and powerful roots.

Oh wait. Here it is. Somehow it didn’t show up initially. Apologies.

“When people talk about bias in journalism, focus often on how stories are framed. But bigger bias can be what gets covered (or not) in first place. So it's concerning both NYT religion reporters don't understand Christian Nationalism. Again, both are great reporters; just wish better on this.”

This section from a similar post really resonates with me - and will stay with me for quite some time. I hope you don’t mind my adding it here.

If it helps to know: I haven't participated in this event since at least 2019. So this truly is something and someone I care about.

My labor is free. A donation to Ava would mean the world to me.

That's all.

I loathe this event. We all should.

Typically I say "Give direct!" and "Mutual aid!" but we live in a complex world with complex choices.

I think there will be a “watch from home” event in February.

Oh and they weren’t just at Jan 6 - they organized the busses from Lancaster!

If you haven’t caught the documentary, keep your eye open. It is riveting.

Hey Lancaster, PA:

Well look at that - An Appeal to Heaven Flag. Which Lancaster elected officials have connections to the same flag?

Let's take a look!

Not to mention the difficulty of finding good alternatives in conservative areas. Strings attached, so often.
