Fun but ultimately throwaway panel preview for my upcoming comic #Silver&Iron 🧛‍♀️
Inked lineart of two sexy vampires, a woman in a tight dress and a man in a poet shirt and mantle, striking provocative poses.

True of artists, projectionists, and wizards 👍

I comment on artists' lines with the fervency of the "when will you wear wigs" bit

Aw man, yeah that's a bit of a bummer. Some parents seem hardwired to view everything through the lens of being financially viable/profitable. I guess they wanna look out for us but it's still a little disheartening. At least we can be broke Together
landeg.bsky.social
That's nice! It seems pretty common that parents don't understand HAHA but it is nice that they support us even when they don't get what it is we do :')

Too old to draw????? HUH????? Do they not know about like ...... art galleries
landeg.bsky.social
OH NO 😭 QUICK GO BACK TO ART!! I'm glad you could come back to it eventually though :") But felt on the not really understanding thing. It's hard but at least we can find community in each other, right?

It's sweet that your mum understands, even if only sometimes! And I'm glad she's supportive of you. I hope your dad can come around eventually. But also yes lmao I just sort of hide anything gay or frisky under a rug on the rare occasions I do talk to my mother about art lol
landeg.bsky.social
LMAO same - I gave up on trying to actually share my art with my mother after high school because she's very sweetly intentioned but just doesn't understand anything that isn't, like, a still life/portrait. So I focus more on how making art is making me feel which she enjoys hearing more 👍

This is basically my exact situation too

Artists (of all kinds): Do your parents understand your art work? Are they supportive?

Honestly this is good I think! Sometimes it can be easy to just throw out a specific word and walk away, but I find that comments from people who may not know specific terms are more likely to describe in-depth the aspects they really like about a piece, which is always so loved 🥹

It's completely normal which is why it's kind of absurd 😭 talking with industry professionals and peers you really admire about their crayons

Remains one of the greatest artistic compliments I've seen tbh. Can never go wrong

"You can see the brush strokes. That's cool. I like that. I have some favourite brushes too"
landeg.bsky.social
Do you want me to get my mum to ask your mum if you can come over after school and draw?
landeg.bsky.social
Being an artist trying to talk with other artists is just embarrassing. "I like your shapes and colours!" Mortifying playground shit
landeg.bsky.social
Ohhh I wanna know more about all of them immediately I love their shapes!
landeg.bsky.social
I made a grave error thinking I wouldn't pass out before I could reply to any suggestions I got so I will come back!!
