Funds can invest in union staffed and endorsed businesses. The trades have a lot of unions. The trades build real estate. Funds finance this type of work. Would you put tradespeople out of work to punish fund managers? Would you deprive teachers of their retirement? How much pain would you cause?

There is value extraction and value creation. A fund merely applies capital. I’d say regulators engaging in insider trading is more value extraction. Affordable housing financing is value creation.
