We had a fantastic time at the #battleoflewes this year! I was honoured to be included on the advertising and had a blast giving my surgery talk. Can’t wait to do it all again next year!

A lovely shot of my 13th century barber surgeon display at the Battle of Lewes 2025!
A display of 13th century barber surgeon tools. The tools are a bloodletting dish, bandages, tweezers, scissors, retractors, an awl, a fleam, various surgical knives, a bone saw, some fake leeches and some arrow heads. Also on the table is a piece of bloodstained leather, a fake hand pierced by an arrow head, and a clay drinking cup. Some tools are nestled in a leather pouch, others are laid out on a white rabbit skin. In the background is the green grass, and in the foreground is the grey woollen tunic the reenactor is wearing. It is daylight and the photograph is warmly lit.
