You could try Veggie fried breakfast - halloumi, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach & a fried egg. Easy to adapt, but requires keeping plates warm if serving more than 2 at a time. Also, love a ‘fake kebab’ with the vivera fake shwarma meat, pita, houmous, salad and a microwave pack of fancy grains

Nigel Slater's Tender (volume 1) - it's like a thesaurus of vegetables, and includes the flavours that go well with each, as well as recipes. Allows you to buy a 'new' vegetable each week without wondering what to do with it!

I loved Joanna The Notorious Queen of Naples, Jerusalem and Sicily, by Nancy Goldstone. Interesting period of history too
