I’ve been experiencing this while visiting fam in Idaho. They aren’t MAGAts but they are cynical about anything the government does being useful, helpful, or working. They don’t think about the fact there aren’t any GYNs in the state and what that might mean to their kids or grandkids.

When SF finally put in bike lanes a few years ago, I was miffed bc my trip to the highway went from 15 minutes tops to 30. But I got used to it. I do that 1-2x/ week. I ride the bus more and the buses run better. And when I ride my bike it’s a joy, though there are now bike traffic jams!

TBF, I visited the Museum of Archaeology in Mexico City and the docent told me that recent discoveries suggest most Aztec human sacrifices were teenagers. A mother was there with her 2 bored teens and exclaimed, “Makes sense! Good idea!” The kids kinda perked up and looked around.

Niece works for a debt resolution company as an attorney. She used to have reasonable hours. Now she has so many clients she is worried it is pushing legal ethics and she has crazy hours.
