I assumed that was the poster's point. All of them successful pro athletes of roughly the same height and BMI says all sorts of nonsense about them.
larbalestier.bsky.social
Except for the occasional LEAVE THEM/HER ALREADY.
larbalestier.bsky.social
Mikki Kendall, telling folks TO LEAVE HIM ALREADY since last century.
larbalestier.bsky.social
Yeah, it's no accident that most of the players demonised for playing "dirty" are masc presenting and often darker skinned too. The misogynoir of it all. Argh!
larbalestier.bsky.social
It was heinous. The MNBA totally had the option of investing in the ABL. But apparently it was more fun to destroy it and start a new league so it could keep women's hoops under its heel forever. Bless.

The shit being spouted by the W right now is turning my hair white. *inarticulate howl of rage*

These tactics aren't just used against women. In publishing's twisted logic a book flopping is the author's fault not the publisher's.

It's always we authors should be grateful a publisher took us on at all; not #publishing wouldn't make money or EXIST without authors.

Labour negotiations in a women's sports league is relevant to all because misogyny is everywhere.

The female commissioner of the #wnba told a player that they should GET DOWN ON THEIR KNEES in gratitude for being paid.

Our employers aren't doing us a favour by paying us. We make them money!

This is a brilliant discussion with @wagesofwins.bsky.social on how trash the management of the #WNBA is. With receipts!

The only W malfeasance they don't discuss is how the W's creation destroyed the already formed women's pro league, the ABL. Intentionally?

In conclusion, yay, Nephessa Collier!

emergency pod with @wagesofwins.bsky.social on Napheesa Collier going toe to toe with the commish in her exit interview. Will "the worst leadership in the world" survive this? and what does it mean for the future of the WNBA?

Finally Barbara’s story is getting national attention. New update from her gofundme: she is now in a Louisiana ICE processing center after three days of travel in shackles. She’s sleeping on the floor and has been denied care for her medical condition.

Same same same.

We were all born last century, weren't we?
larbalestier.bsky.social
Same. My current long hair is because of the lockdown.
larbalestier.bsky.social
Yup. It was trash from start to finish. The NYT style section applies to--who knows who? Certainly folks I've never met. I read it with anthropological curiosity.

In conclusion, Ezra Klein is wrong about ab**tion and pretty much everything else. Access to reproductive health care is an election winning strategy. The majority of US citizens support that access.

He prolly thinks women wake up with perfect TV hair too.
larbalestier.bsky.social
The upkeep of short hair is such a pain. And, yeah, cheap it ain't.
larbalestier.bsky.social
This article is SO accurate. See also TV teeth.

Thanks for the link!

Yes! It me.

I mean I wouldn't call it an opportunity though. I miss my stylish short hair. But I don't miss all that time and money lost to getting my hair done. And I love the stylist I used to go to!
larbalestier.bsky.social
Agreed. But this one was even more egregious than usual.
larbalestier.bsky.social
It really is. The few photo shoots I've done were an agony of sitting still while they did endless shit to my hair. Did look shiny after, but.

I don't know anyone who does that on the daily.
larbalestier.bsky.social
Exactly. I just wrote a reply pointing out that most of the world's population is not spending money to have their long locks be shiny and lush.

I doubt it's even the majority of us long-haired inhabitants of the USA.
