Do we know how many people showed up for the birthday parade?

The workers are high-quality and they learn value skills that often help them figure out what they want to pursue in their professional lives. At East Palo Alto, Academy, the charter high school I cofounded, our Americorps workers were an invaluable asset that we wouldn’t have been able to afford.

Americorps workers, usually recent college grads, are paid $18,000 to work full time for a year or two at non-profits and schools.

I think she’s trying to make sure she’s able to get access to the emergency funding for the devastating ice storm in the upper peninsula a few weeks ago. People say the storm was as bad as a category five hurricane. She’s in a really tough position. I definitely don’t envy it.
