Have now moved over to the watch party for Conservative's Andrew Scheer, bidding for a seventh term in Regina-Qu'Appelle.

Also a fairly good-smelling buffet on here. Maybe I'm just hungry?

I myself am stationed at the NDP's HQ in Regina, where all three candidates for the city's ridings are for the time being.

Photo does not convey how good the potluck supper folks are enjoying here smells, but it really is tempting.

And we're here for day 4 of Regina's budget!

By my (very rough) math, council has managed to whittle the mill rate down from an 8.5% to a 7.5% inc. so far — but not w/out tension yesterday.

Hearing some frustration still this a.m., as councillors mill about before the meeting. #yqrcc #yqr

And day 3 of Regina's budget talks dawns!

Most eyes will be at the legislature today for the #sask budget but I am still here at city hall, keeping tabs.

Things were starting to heat up yesterday — we'll see what goes on today. #yqrcc #yqr

Day 2 of city budget meetings 👋🏻

We’re starting off more questions to Regina Police, before moving on to the fulsome operating budget later today.

The 8.5% mill rate inc. has been whittled down some, but still sits around ~8% so far (based on my napkin math anyways). #yqrcc #yqr

UPDATE: University of Regina's president Jeff Keshen says this incident is being "investigated" and the institution is prepared to take action if any participants are found to have violated the U of R's respect policy.

A statement from Keshen was circulated on campus today.

Okay one more: a group photo of the new council in order of ward, with the new mayor in the middle. #yqrcc #yqr

Seems fitting my first post on the new site is the view I'll be bringing to your timelines for the foreseeable future: from the media bench in Regina's city council chambers.

Welcome to a new term with a (nearly) new #yqr city council.
