yeah!!! i feel like most series just end with like "and the next one is the last one thank you for your support!" so having this two year farewell runway feels very thoughtful and loving, like they understand the fans will want to properly say goodbye

already when watching the 10th anniv, i wondered how long the series could go on with all these actors not getting any younger, and toumyu being a VERY demanding show physically. i also didn't feel like this was a show you could recast. so i think it was a brave and good choice to plan the ending

the fact that all the actors had their posts prepared (and Mario wrote such a long comment it made me super emo) also shows that they were informed well in advance, which i appreciate. and i generally also appreciate it when a series knows when to call time instead of dragging on too long

ahhhhh it's so true the free! feelings never leave you. just thinking back to everything i felt back then about the bonds that these boys share is like a huge wave washing over me all over again. i'm so glad to get to share all these forever emotions with you 💚

it reminded me that once, i dove headfirst into the creation of a big and scary thing even if i didn't know for sure i could do it. that i was audacious. that i let love carry me through all the rough and imperfect patches. i found myself opening up a file and Just Writing. it felt really good :')

this commenter gave me the courage to reread the fic in full for the first time in i don't know how long (def >5 years, maybe closer to 10) and i found that... the same impulses and convictions and love that drove me to write it in the first place were still alive, and joyfully so

oh interesting, most unis are usually anxious to hold it asap so that more grads will attend so maybe it really is an acute venue shortage 🥲 the practice usually is to maintain an ongoing annual booking of that venue so i thought it was less likely a reason, but, dense city limited space woes T-T

total stab in the dark/wondering aloud here haha but i worked in higher education for more than 10 years and the most common reason for such a big time gap is that there is some external validation body beyond the institution of study that needs to ratify the results, maybe it's something like that?
