Excited for the NYFF presentation tonight - a new restoration of Erich von Stroheim’s “Queen Kelly” - best known today as the silent film Gloria Swanson screens for William Holden in “Sunset Blvd.” And she’s right - they did have faces then.

Stumbled upon a 35mm film can labeled: “Deliverance” dailies - Reel 1. I got excited but, alas, it was nothing. No secret John Boorman stash of white water outtakes. I was hoping for at least a few Burt Reynolds bloopers.

Yes, I did play Richard Dreyfus in a parody that took on both JAWS and Brian De Palma’s THE FURY. The shark in this movie had telekinetic powers!! I think there were some GOODBYE GIRL jokes in there too (“I don’t like the panties on the boat.”)

Believe it or not - I actually got in a fight with a rattlesnake. It was a crazy bloody affair involving two cars and an axe 🪓 (you don't get to see those terrifying photos). But fortunately - I won the battle and got the rattle. 🐍
