Yeah for all the nasty shit that happens online - and a LOT of nasty shit happens on it - it can genuinely be a wonderful outlet if you use it in the right way

I wonder about the makeup effects scene in Thailand, it seems like its got a growing scene.

There was some new werewolf movie filmed there with practical werewolf suits and it seemed to be a Thai crew doing the makeups/effects

I mean look at this DIY rinky dink ass thing. The Thing could have gotten into Scrapheap Challenge as the perfect cover

this just reminds me that I can watch most movie gore scenes without flinching and then the moment food mess is involved Im outta there

Eddie Quist from The Howling (both as a werewolf and as a grody human killer)?

I would also say perhaps Hitch from Dust Devil? Also IMO most werewolves would look killer in your style (Uncle Ted from Bad Moon and Ginger from Ginger Snaps!)

Also how is it that people dont bring up more that the Thing tries to build its own little flying saucer to escape.

In a better world 'was the Carpenter Thing also a killer carrot' would be the big topic of discussion over the film and not 'oh but who got infected first' or w/e

watched The Thing (yknow the Carpenter classic) for the first time in a decades, yeah it still packs a punch.

Will say, am I the only one who feels the green shoots in the Norris sequences was a homage to the 50s Thing being a plant creature?

British kids got the same fear via old Dr. Who (to the point that the UK police commissioners complained about it. Lmfao)

Further proof that using HTML to format articles is the superior choice (and one I've been doing for years at this point)

Hi Google,

Fuck off and maybe think about improving your search engines and having blogspot get good SEO again

Thanks

It is also extremely a 'Just Guys Being Dudes' movie

watching the original 1951 version of The Thing. I am enjoying it but also noticing this film probably is patient zero for all the Roswell conspiracy theories too.

Crashed flying saucer, Air Force recover and study the alien occupant, attempt at alien coverup. UFOlogy is all pulp scifi rehashed

I just use this stupid site (and other stupid sites, like tumblr and insta) as shop windows (as somehow they also get more hits on google than blogspot itself does)

But yknow, having everything owned by Google does make me wary. Again, just in case.

I am thinking instead of the blogspot part. if you arent reading the blog...oh idk, stop wasting my time? thank you!

Thinking of looking into how to get my blog hosted on its own domain, but the real issue is will all the images on it affect the hosting costs?

I have never ran a full on website before, so this is all daunting to me. Anyone got advice?

Cox also had worked on Babe and Pitch Black, and had got his start under Bob McCarron on Philipe Mora's Captain Invicible and Howling 3
