The Tales from the Darkside movie and the 90s Outer Limits episode 'First Anniversary' tho the monster part is played as a shock.
Galaxy Quest but again played for laughs. Howling 3 is a rare sincere example with both male leads knowingly falling in love with a werewolf and were-thylacine

The great Udo Kier, whom I once interviewed on stage in Toronto, both getting drunk on Chardonnay & Jagermeister, as he mercilessly teased me, has died at 81. Udo, one of the hardest working men in show biz, worked w/ everyone from Paul Morrissey to Fassbinder to Lars Von Trier

I was talking to a former KNB EFX guy who revealed KNB actually contributed some stuff to the early seasons of X-Files, as Toby Lindala's team was stretched thin.
One episode KNB supplied stuff for was 'Humbug'. The infamous twin puppet was a KNB creation; the KNB team nicknamed it 'Baby Stinky'

There needs to be more focus on makeup effects outside the US/UK/Canada/Japan imo.
Even Italy has been mostly neglected until recent years, but what about France, Germany, Hong Kong, etc?

In the various Steve Johnson werewolf archives for Howling 4, theres some concept art for the American Werewolf In Paris draft that never happened (only faint traces remain in the final AWIP)

partly cos I generally aint fond of his films stylistic trappings, partly cos he comes across as one of these self-serious 'aint I a clever boy' directors
