NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research.
Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions

The one silver lining I could see to a 🍊presidency is that the US population may be quickly united and galvanized against the oligarchs in power when everyone realizes the rich are just getting richer and those eggs aren’t getting any cheaper.
