I became a paraplegic at 11, then broke my neck at 26 and became a tetraplegic. Outdoor instructor specialising in disability, currently on hiatus due to osteomyelitis in my backside. I love politics (centre left), Manchester City, gaming, history and gigs
Got rejected from that job. Here comes the weeklong depression!

I have applied for a job that’s perfect for me. It’s really got me driven in the right direction post this awful injury and osteomyelitis (which is worse). I hope i get it for many reasons, i think it would really broaden and open up my future opportunities.

The thing that prevents me from spending much time on here is the fact I seem to struggle to find much news or find more than a handful of interesting people to follow.

Just put good morning Britain on and my god, they don’t let anyone left of Trump have a voice. Susannah Reid is that girl that thinks she’s clever at school, everyone else thinks she’s clever and i am just there rolling my eyes.

JD vance looks like every privately educated, tory boy that only got 3 D’s at A level and will still be trusted to take over the family business.

Elon musk wanting buy Liverpool football club? 🤣 that would stop the oil money slurs, I suppose.

Got too cold at football so came home at halftime . Fell asleep all evening so now wide awake. I wish i was being a wimp but despite my clothing, temp was <35° 🫤 but the effort i put in to watch Man City reminds me im not giving up.

Back home from the busiest week ever. Had my first physio session since my neck break with Lorna who’s known me since i was 14. She was pleasantly surprised considering how im not “well” atm and says im not following the patterns of a tetra…some quick acupuncture got my left wrist moving.

How is she not eternally embarrassed?
Like a pathetic exiled kinglet, turfed off his throne and lingering at the fringes of a foreign warlord’s court to provide a fig leaf for his aggression in return for victuals, wine and a warm cloak.

I am knee deep in Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone on gameboy color here with nanna in her puzzle book. Think im about 7.

I try to listen to a variety of views I don’t necessarily agree with. But my god, that political currency podcast with balls and osbourne is dire. Musk apologists, friends with jd vance and not a backbone between them. Balls is now populist. Osbourne ruined my generation’s future.

I think public speaking is genuinely my only talent. I just don’t know how to use it and not done it in years. I’ve written a tribute for my nanna’s funeral and I think it’s good. Is it weird i am looking forward to saying it?

Institutional discrimination is still the norm in the nhs.
Healthcare assistant: Now this is a stupid question, but do you have children?
Nurse: How is that a stupid question?
HCA: You’ve been like this since you were 11.
Me: I am 31, just because im paralysed doesn’t mean I can’t have kids!

My Nanna died on the 13th, she might have been 92 but it was still a shock. Only got my Mum now who im very close to but she’s complicated. I’m spending my time avoiding everything with pure anxiety right now for so many reasons.

With Nigel Farage once more gracing our TV screens on BBC Question Time, it's time to revisit this excellent article by Dr Russ Jackson which has had over 230k reads!

At least this time Farage is an elected MP and party leader. Not so his previous 35+ times 😡

problem with living in Manchester when the Christmas markets start far too early in early November is that everything’s mulled, I’ve only just had my birthday bored of Christmas and not even prepared as usual.

WTAF

That’s not trolling the UK govt anymore - that’s straight up campaigning for a political party in a foreign country.

It’s serious.

Farage walks out of Sky interview because, apparently, having 1m TikTok followers means not having to answer as party leader, about your MP's failure to disclose being jailed for violent assault.

But we should definitely trust Nige's vetting going forward. Unless he gets 2m TikTok followers. ~AA
