NO I want him to live to see the Epstein files released and see the outage at him! Maybe his joke of a cabinet will use that as the excuse to use amendment 25, and yes, we’d then be stuck with JD, but he has negative charisma and hardcore MAGA will never love him like they do Donny. MAGA implodes.

Maybe we could get ahead of some of this stuff if states start forming coalition now…

OMG we could use their own logic against them. No testing for Covid means no one’s getting COVID? Cancelled flights means no late flights? Abolished police means no crime! 😆

No, I don’t think it went away due to govt regulation. I think it went away because people cared more about integrity. And had longer attention spans and better memories. If govt regulation is impossible, then we need to figure out something to tackle this problem that is both legal and effective.

I don’t think it’s likely media outlets will voluntarily start practicing responsible journalism anytime soon, if ever again, since their purpose has become to make profit, not inform, and they make more with sensationalist BS and clickbait than with genuine reporting.

Then how do we get this whole misinformation ecosystem we’re living in under control? It’s causing real harm.

at least *verifiably* false, like Trump claiming inflation is down when it is up, or that the insurrection act was invoked by 50% of past presidents, or things like that. I don’t think legislating the verification of claims presented as news risks a slippery slope to a ministry of truth.

I think it could be argued that airing stories without fact checking them first is a form of fraud, like the whole “they’re eating dogs and cats in Springfield” thing. Also, when reporters interview someone who blatantly lies, the show should at least air a follow-up that shows what things were
