ME vs Long Covid: Its complex but I think the main difference is that we know in #longcovid that the Covid virus triggered or exacerbated it. Otherwise the conditions are almost the same. Many ME &long covid patient communities & researchers are coming together.

In the UK the minimum wage is the same for all employees whatever job they do.

But it’s still far too low and discriminates against young people - who can be lawfully paid a pittance.

I’ve done some more research and received this response from Novavax themselves. Bad news..but at least I know and can stop phoning and emailing pharmacies.

(Novavax is supposed to be the best covid vaccination for people with compromised immune systems).

Absolutely. And I wonder …

If the gastroenterologist, neurologist & immunologist ever talk to each other?

If a patient is ever fortunate enough to to see all three of them?

Interesting how other nations can be more generous.

Does look like the bill proposes an increase in UC for the standard allowance but a cut and a freeze in the health element, which is for sick&disabled people.
Make that make sense!? What a mess. It was such a shambles I wonder how many even knew for sure what they were voting for at the end.

And which ever way you look at it this graph doesn’t show anything ‘spiralling’
And even if it did…I want a government that cares and tries to help. Not one that starves its population.

For info, the organisation Transactual are asking people to please tell them if they are questioned, stopped or challenged using a single sex space. This will help their work and they can signpost to legal support.

And fortunately, we have law!

The Public Sector Equality Duty means that Councils have to do EDI work. Theres a general duty explained here & specific duties (like setting objectives & reporting). Things they must do. Sacking particular workers wouldn’t get rid of the legal duty to do the work.

I’m concerned about how Labour are treating immigrants (deportations, detention camps, no safe routes); trans people (health policy as well as the court ruling) & disabled people (brutal cuts to benefits).
Labour need to show leadership to stop fascism not collude with it. And break this cycle:

Interesting article!

Worth getting to the very end, when implications for the UK are summarised:

Starmer ‘reading the room’ again - for goodness sake. Please don’t offer Trump anything.

He already has too much: military bases in our country, surveillance of our people, and the promise of a royal welcome.

Don’t back the wrong side here. Don’t sell us out!
