It’s insane. The problem is constant increases in consumption (and production) by the global north. We have to change our entire economic and social systems. The world is not a business.It is not possible declare climate bankruptcy and start over. We have to plan our economy to care for one another.

I highly recommend this book… Yr Dead, by Sam Sax. It struck a deep chord in me. It’s beautifully written and structured, and Sax addresses so much of the disconnectedness in our lives that is destroying us and our planet.

Are these mass donations on giving Tuesday supposed to allow us to repent for the frenzied mass consumption on Black Friday and cyber Monday? It’s annoying, but also sadly demonstrates a sort of disconnectedness from deep giving and caring.

We have known for 52 years, and still so few are listening.

We also have to stop senseless consumption and end careless economic growth and the use of GDP as an indicator of a country’s well being.
