In the US (Cook County) our property values are assessed every two years and taxed on that. It does have a few disadvantages of prices going up because of gentrification and wealthy ‘hoods have very good services and poor ones don’t. You can tell the wealth of a town literally by the potholes

I think I might have had the 128, I vaguely recall my C64 being stolen and replaced it with the 128 then some slight differences caused some C64 games not to run. Not many but a few
