I wrote a book about art and fucking and BDSM and falling in love, Art reflects life and in this sadomasochistic relationship every romance is an act of creation

The cover of my book, the title 'Anonymous Nude Photos' written in all lowercase letters in soft pink. The cover is of a woman's back, dressed in layers of ivory and pale white lingerie, tied into it with nude jute rope, wrapped in it tightly, the rope and the corset laces tangled together. She reaches back and unhooks her bra...

A doorway full of flowers
But some of them have thorns
.
A black and white photo, low contrast, a wide variety of grey and lots of noise. A photographer sitting on the floor, knees pulled up to their chest, legs bare, black skirt gathered up around their hips. they are obviously not wearing any other clothes but you can only see their arms and legs, folded and tucked close to their body. They are holding a large camera with a trigger sensor hooked up to the flash foot. The camera is facing you, lens dark and focused. They are taking the photo in a mirror. A black and white photo, with low contrast, features a wide variety of dark grey and lots of noise. Darkness creeps up from the bottom of the photo, with more shadows and deeper black than the first photo. The photographer is turned now taking a photo in a different mirror, a different reflection, their back and long dark hair curved into view. The same skirt, same folded arms and legs. They hold up their camera, the back screen lifted and shining a white rectangle, they look into the camera, over their shoulder, through a mirror's reflection.

Getting to show you all this cover and announce that VILLAIN is officially coming out in May of next year is such a joy and a relief i don't even know how to express it.

i have taken this photo a dozen times
.
It's a black and white photo, one I have taken a dozen times - too many tangents and breaking the rules of composition, focal points pulled right down to the bottom. My, my hair in a messy braid, I'm looking away from the camera, hand over my eyes. My back is reflected in the mirror behind me, in focus, sharp, tattoos in bright and shadow. I'm kneeling on the floor, I'm not looking at the camera, i'm almost out of frame

I have taken this photo a dozen times, me hiding inside myself, hiding in my body like burrowing into a rose bush, full of thorns, even at the root. I think of my joints and how they can feel brittle as twigs, pulled by a fray of pain... I drop the pain, it's a thought so I can...

think carefully about fucking someone I love instead, until my name is like a smear on their skin, a stain, and I'll wash their t-shirts and their sheets, hang their laundry out to dry in the sun. I watch myself lying in the grass and moss of my bed and think of my hands vanishing into cotton, as I look up at the ceiling and imagine the sky. I don't move my hands, pain is there. I can think two things at once, pain and want.

a blade, like Sunlight on a bone -

We are just people, and we respond to change in seasons or emotions like animals. Perhaps now more than ever, I think that so little, almost nothing, distinguishes us from them.

Like me, for instance.

I'm more of an animal than a fox or a wolf, face stained red from a feast, joints popping. want so desperately, my mouth is wet.

I'm a wild animal in a black and white photo, with long tangled hair in a braid. I have taken this photo a dozen times.

I bought the dress in New York City, and the only time i wore it a fortune teller on the street told me i had stories to tell...
A long feminine figure cast in sunlight so rich and golden it's almost a silhouette, their body reflected filling the frame. The line between real and reflection, between flesh and glass, lit with searing red and giving their form shape. Their lingerie is layered, bra, silk panties, bodysuit, everything is rumpled down and skew.... Disorganized in the light. Everything is out of focus but saturated in Orange light, A body in color and lingerie. Kneeling their legs spread their hands. Hovering open about to touch... They're lost under a veil so the camera, like their hands, hunts for something to land on, creating only a smear of light. A buttery out of focus haze.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Ramadan. Ramadan is 23 years old and worked in his father’s sewing factory. His father was killed and now he’s responsible for his family including his siblings Rula, 26, Rami, 20 and Ramey, 17 as well as his 2 year old nephew Jihad.

Saying " I don't participate in call out culture but here is a name out of pocket" is exactly the kind of post that got me rape threats.

Stop it.

But without due process and because of the way the internet works usually just everybody ends up hurt, lies are compounded, truth is ignored, bad face actors are hugely empowered and gain social clout, and a community becomes less safe

People who participate often think they are supporting a harmed individual and protecting others from the person they are destroying.

We know the first initial thing we say about an event online becomes the only thing people will know. If the information we deliver is phrased and targeted specifically to destroy another human being that is manipulation of this understanding of media and audience to harm others
