1.) Rodeo is about the most traditionally masculine thing there is so it doesn’t make much sense that the mechanical version is somehow the opposite;

2.) The constant policing of hetero men’s sexuality makes them— & the police who police them —seem so fragile, like a house of cards. It’s so silly.

That is definitely one of the reasons I disagree with the mainstream way Santa is practiced — and now the Elf on the Shelf surveillance state culture too.

I think this is probably the topic I’ve gotten yelled at the most for on social media though. It’s not like I don’t bend over backwards for my kids; I do! Just not in this way. I’ve never been convinced that the dominant cultural model on Santa & holiday magic has much to offer. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I remember the magic feeling special but I look around & I just don’t think the outcome is great. People as they age out of Santa still tend to take their moms for granted. I don’t want my kids to do that (w/ me or w/ their future relationships). I want them to know they have a role in creating good

It seems weird that it took so long for those ads to come out (the ones D’s are being called seditionists for) & for this topic to be in the news.

Was the organizing happening all along but quietly? And it took those ads to break into mainstream coverage? Or have folks been slow to address it? Idk
