Another little update: I've been fighting the idea of creating an automap for a long time and initially I was trying hard to make the world easy enough to traverse without one. I implemented fast travel before an automap in fact but I couldn't deny that having one improves the sense of exploration.

Small #devlog. I know it seems like I disappear for stretches. The reality is I’m balancing this project with a full-time job and everything else. I work on #gamedev whenever I can, even if it’s not as much as I wish it were. Still here and building, just slower than I'd like.

Was stuck for ideas and asked #Copilot to redesign my #indiegame scene and... it's definitely more eye catching. I think it's not much the new detail and window centering the scene, as much as the diffused lighting that make all the difference. Do you hate #AI or think it's just a fresh set of eyes?

I'm really excited to share Ollie and the Merchant of Dreams with you and see you enjoy the world I've created over these 5 years. Being a solo dev the progress is really slow and I never imagined creating and adding SFX could be so time consuming.

At the risk of sounding naive, I must say making games isn't exactly a walk in the park 😅 much less is making music and sfx for them. Making something decent takes a lot of time and effort but when everything comes together it's gratifying.
