Right I think deep down Dean knew he was more than just a hunter but also battled so hard with self worth so he just pushed ahead. But if nothing else was motivation enough to get him to quit, I think being with his kid would have been.

Right it was always his job to save people, save the world. But when you have a kid, that becomes your world, so I wonder if that would be enough to get him to quit and realize now his only responsibility is to that child

Again, I feel like I have crossing lines brain rot because I completely agree that post hell Dean would act this way but I really wonder if pre hell Dean thought of himself as toxic

I’m very torn between thinking Dean would NEVER just leave his kid behind wondering about his safety like John did to him, and him justifying being out on the road as protecting his child. I think the former is pre-hell Dean, and the latter is post-hell
